So what is an article directory?
An Article directory is a collection of technical and informational articles on all major areas of life and knowledge. Each area is represented by an article directory category. Webmaster and authors write articles for each category and submit them for publication.
The article itself should not be in a pure language of advertising. Rather, they should be written so that they pass on information about the chosen topic and provide readers with a real benefit.
With respect to these quality criteria, article directories also differ from Web and Link Directories. Web Directories in the page description that is often published several times. This is the search engine operators already interpreted as spam and has a negative effect on the valuation. Moreover, the link is often on the side again with a variety of topics that have little or nothing to do with their own web content. The search engines interpret this as an alien theme.

An author that wants to write and publish an article, must register once to become a contributing author to the article directory and usually can start publishing articles right away and begin sharing his knowledge with the article directory visitors. Will he put a back link to his website, he should stay as close to their subject. A backlink is a topic that is relatively useless foreign item.
Conducting an assessment of the article directory is essential, among other things, the PageRank™ and indexing. PageRank™ is calculated using a complex algorithm that nobody knows exactly, but is known to be an indicator of the link quality. This is the relevance of the topics outgoing links closely. The PageRank ™ thus says something about the importance of the article directory site. High PR article directories are therefore particularly sought after by authors because they bequeath a certain extent of authority to the published authors.
